Friends,
The evening started with a beautiful view from the 35th floor of the Petroleum Club in downtown Oklahoma City. About 55 guests of Jesus showed up and enjoyed a great celebration.
In the absence of Bill Allen, Tom sang "Birthday Party of the King" with the amazing accompaniment of Susan Mogilka. Terry and Tom played great guitar music. Susan played a beautiful song, "New Word." Levon Eudaley read the birth of Jesus from the Urantia Book. Tom, Terry, Susan and Barbara sang a beautiful version of the 23rd Psalm. Kelly Mogilka was presented with a leather bound Urantia Book ably presented by Jessica Hester in the absence of her beloved grandmother, Waldine. Terry Jackson is our newest member inducted into our Society by Jean Conley our Membership Chair.
Barbara Hester is to be commended for organizing a very successful Jesus Birthday celebration at the Petroleum Club. I'm sure Jesus and his angels were pleased with the event as the music was wonderful, the food was superb and the fellowship was morontial. David Kantor was the main speaker. He gave us a reall feeling for the life and times of Jesus and led us in a Remembrance supper which definitely invoked the presence of Jesus.
We all felt the spirit of Truth and carried home a real sense of spiritual joy.

Friends,
Blessed we were this weekend with the presence of David Kantor, who definitely blessed us with the Presence of Jesus. Between 25-30 readers enjoyed an all day workshop on August 21 at the Home of Harry and Stacey McMullan which was kicked off Friday night with a social at their house. David had obviously worked very hard and made a wonderful presentation on the religion of Jesus and supported his workshop with many wonderful powerpoint teachings and the helpful use of a handout.
Delicious ethnic food was a true international treat for all of us at lunch. David then concluded his workshop on Friday morning with a wonderful feeling of the presence of Jesus permeating the room.
What a great way to celebrate a truly great weekend.

Friends,
Our glorious marathon in celebration of our Father-Brother Jesus of Nazareth has come to an end. Our Friday night celebration was a real feel good night of joy and fellowship. We always see many people on Jesus' birthday that we don't normally see through the year. Garry Copeland started us off at the Skirvin with a prayer followed by Tom and Nick Allen singing and playing "A Birthday Party of the King." Bill Allen was supposed to sing it, but he was not there, but he showed up shortly after and we were given a chance at reprise with the improved version with Bill's strong and melodious voice. Guest introductions followed and then Waldene presented a leather bound book to Elliot Eudaley in honor of his rite of passage as a 14 year old. For the Membership portion of our program, Tom Allen filled in for Jeralie who was not at all sure she would be there because of family health issues. Tom differentiated between the levels of membership from Jesus' brotherhood to membership in the material organization dedicated to providing structure to our social fellowship. Chris Halvorson then spoke eloquently about the source of Growth. Chris is from Boulder Colorado, and has been studying the book for about 19 years. Many insights were gleaned from his talk. Terry Pursell and Tom Bergmann played several songs about Jesus and we ended the night with a group circle and recited the Believer's prayer after Tom and Terry played "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
The group picture will hopefully be in the next Mighty Messenger and also on this web page if I can get the requisite teaching about how to post them. See you next August 21. It will be a Saturday next year, so we will have an all day celebration, I predict.
