Friends,
Cabot's eleven ventured forth further into paper 56, Universal Unity, and sought to understand some of the most difficult teachings in the book. We are so glad they are there, and look forward to the day when we can understand them better, but we gleaned a few insights in spite of our short comings. We ended the meeting with Instructions to Teachers and Believers in the Jesus Papers, and it is so refreshing and insightful. Good everyday advise.
Spring break is now over and we had many tales to tell of our adventures. We survived and are looking forward to our weeks of hard work gearing up for summer.
See you next week. We'll feel even more unified.
Tom
Friends,
Charlene finished up her stint as moderator by guiding us through the last section in the Morontia Life paper. (Paper 47) The section is entitled "Morontia Progressors" and entertains the certainty that that we are on course for a gloriuos neverending adventure to Paradise and beyond. Thanks Charlene for guiding us through these delightful papers.
We turned the class over to Cabot who began our study on what many consider the most difficult paper in the book, Universal Unity. (Paper 56) We struggled through about 5 sections and gleaned a few insights where we could. At least we Know that God is ONE. We ended the class with Jesus's talk with Nathaniel about the angel for a lighter diversion from the in-depth study.
Cabot, Jill and family will be gone next week as will others, but class will be here unless we bow out too. We'll study something else until Cabot comes back.
We'll keep you posted. Until then,
Tom
Friends,
We spent the whole class on Morontia Mota. It seems that no matter how many times we go over this aphoristic section, new insights emerge continuously. Charlene finishes up the Paper with section 8 on the Morontia Progressors, and then we have turned the leadership and moderatorship of class to Cabot who will take us into great insights into perhaps the most difficult paper in the book, Universal Unity. We agreed that if newcomers come to class that we will head for shallower waters.
Should be a great class next week. Maybe Karen can top herself with the after-class snack, but the Ooey-Gooey cake was out of this world.
Tom
Friends,
Paper 48 on "The Morontia Life" is so interesting. 9 of us weathered the dreary conditions outside and enjoyed learning about the Mansion World Teachers and the Transition Ministers. Great instruction! We will begin our study of Morontia Mota next week (Sectin 7.)
Come join the fun. Rumor has it that Karen will make "Ooie-Gooie" cake next week.
Tom
Friends,
Jill, Cabot and Beth braved the treacherous weather and icy roads to come to class and join Tom and Karen. We studied various sections in Paper 91, "The Evolution of Prayer". We wanted to put off our study of the Morontia life until more people could safely come to class. Beth took the leadership tonight. Michael arrived after class fresh back from the Pacific Coast where the General Council held sway. Charlene was unable to attend due to the inclement weather last week.
Karen shared her Amish friendship cake which is absolutely delicious. Back to normal next week, so we would love to see you.
Tom
